Bari Hybrid tenor Mondstuk

Here is a new and very unique tenor sax mouthpiece manufactured by Bari Woodwinds. The piece is unusual in that it employs both hard rubber and gold metal in its composition, creating a sound which has features of both of the classic mouthpiece types.

Hard rubber composes most of the mouthpiece, covering the tip, rails, and most of the inner chamber. The shank and remaining portion of the interior chamber is where the mouthpiece’s gold metal is found.

This unusual combination of materials creates an unique blend of tones, with sound qualities from both material types. The hard rubber produces a sweet and more subdued undertone, while the gold metal portion adds a rich flare and hint of brightness. This is a wonderful mouthpiece for the player who likes the traditional Otto Link sound but is looking for a bit more edge and projection, great for someone looking for an elegant and versatile tone.
